This mama had a vision and it was to document her newborn in the garden that supports her family.

I recently had the incredible honor of photographing a newborn session for these new parents. They dreamed of a gallery focused on candid and heartfelt moments with their dog at the farm they love going to together.

How outdoor newborn sessions can work

Traditionally, Newborn Sessions happen in a studio or in home. Both lead to a beautiful gallery but I love to mix it up and offer outdoor newborn session. With careful planning around the sun during the day and harsh sunlight, a newborn session outdoors can be beautiful, full of mother nature and fresh air.

As a mom, I love the idea of you and your newborn getting some fresh air and vitamin D from the sun. My goal is to use the tree shade to our benefit and sun rays bursting through the leaves to provide a heartfelt and grounded atmosphere for memories to be documented, authentically. I always protect my families by manipulating my angle and avoid moments that are “too bright”. At this location, the trees provided the shade I look for for newborns.

I’ve worked as a Georgia newborn photographer for long enough to know that every family is unique and creatively different. With gentle prompts, my goal is to observe families as they are and add in the moments I know they wouldn’t want to miss out on.

The focus isn’t on creating “perfect” new family photos, but is on documenting your family in a way that feels and is authentic. The extra bonus comes in where your images can safely be shared.
